Why do you feel that you have to explain your bank's prestige to people? Nobody gives a shit where anyone else works in real life, and they certainly don't care about how "prestigious" it is.
You will be making +100k in your first job out of UG, you don't need to legitamize yourself to people not in finance.
People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for freedom of thought which they seldom use.
I agree that I don't need to prove myself to people not in finance but to say that no one gives a shit about where anyone else works I think is a generalization of how "real life" works. A superficial but nonetheless "real life" example that comes to mind is lounging around a bar, girl asks what you do for a living. She recognizes goldman sachs and the gold digging sloot is willing to pay more attention to you and go home for a one night stand.

I think what you are really asking is: "How do I solve my self-esteem issues?"
"For I am a sinner in the hands of an angry God. Bloody Mary full of vodka, blessed are you among cocktails. Pray for me now and at the hour of my death, which I hope is soon. Amen."

I know what you mean - one time I brought a bulbasaur to a battle - everyone just laughed and it got sent to the ER because some idiot's charmander used ember and there was no water around.
Next day I brought a squirtle, which is basically the GS of pokemon red/blue, and water gunned the charmander till the fire in its tail went out and it died.
TL:DR - Renege on elite boutique offer and go for GS ops.
Sigh I knew people would pick apart my example to show how people do care where you work sometimes. Because it is now the center of discussion, I will use a better thought out example. Let's pretend I am applying to a job outside of banking... Let's say Business Development for some industry conglomerate in Singapore. During my application I definitely want to ensure that the employer understands that the job I worked at was well respected and incredibly competitive to achieve. How do I go about ensuring in my short explanation they understand this without coming off as a douchebag.
You don't. You can talk about deals you work on your resume, which can add some credibility, but other than that this is not something you need to think about.
The answer to your question is no, you cannot brag about the prestige of your job and how you "triumphed" over everyone else without sounding like a tool.
If you're relying on your business card to get laid you're probably not going to have much success with women, ever. I would suggest being a more interesting, funny, and down-to-earth person.
You should also grow a mustache. That will get you respect all over, especially with Singapore-based conglomerates.
If you are applying for a "business development job in Singapore," you won't get the job because of your prestige at an elite boutique, you'll get it because of the experience you gained and the skills you have honed while working there. Sure, these banks are prestigious within the finance world and not as well known as the Goldmans in the everyday world, but when it comes down to your career, its about the experience you gain. Just because your analyst class was harder to get in than Citi's XYZ group doesn't prove anything to anyone. Those who care about prestige (top-flight PE/HF will know the firm and the rest won't give a fuck). Brand name can be useful but it sure as hell isn't the only aspect. I'm sure you will get great experience wherever you are heading and from there, you have all the options in the world

LOL
Try being a more interesting person if you're trying to take home one-night stands instead of relying on the perceived prestige of your job.

Haha, people only look down on where you work because you do for yourself.
Let me know if you need some petty cash to get a refill on vagisil.
Just say you work in banking or finance and let your actions speak for themselves.. pretty simple.

There's two types of people here on WSO... 1) Those who say prestige is important, and 2) dirty fucking liars.
That doesn't mean you should feel the need to prove yourself to anyone; your actions should do that for you.

Nice troll!
But really, if you're rich, it will show. Obviously. And prestige= f(wealth/future wealth).
If you plan to leave finance don't join an elite boutique.
Tell them you turned down Goldman for it (even if you didn't)
