Forgot to reference common connection in subject line of email. Do I resend?
I double checked a cold email I sent and found that I had a common connection with the person but forgot to mention anywhere in my email. I'm 100% they haven't opened so, do I make a new email and resend or include in my follow up?
Just follow up with them if they forget to respond.
Reply to the same email, and mention the common connection. Say you forgot to mention it, and then mention it.
I like this idea. I think the best way is to be smooth about it and just making it a one or two liner like, "In my previous email I forgot to mention that I know ______, who suggested I reach out."
I've made similar mistakes before and recovery. It's usually my initial email references an attached resume that I forgot to attach.
