FT 2026 - What is the move ?

Alright gents, for those of us which got caught in the crossfire in SA 2025 with no return what is the move at this point? I have multiple very strong internships at credible buyout funds and investment banks, also went to "top school" (if that means anything), but seems like it was for fuck all (at least in finance). Since the minute that I got an indication that there would be no return coming my way, I have reached out to every fund, bank etc. Have been applying for roles even in consulting, FP&A, Corp Dev... anything where you sit behind a screen with a mouse but just to no avail. Meanwhile I am looking at incoming analyst classes where (not all) but a considerable amount of kids are so obviously either DEIs or Nepos with no prior experience just skipping the line of merit. At this point, I'm either considering switching to tech sales, becoming some sort of broker in another sense (maybe luxury items), or going into content creation/internet money, even the trades is making more sense. Maybe if I pick out some smart YC kids - I could also try to replicate Mercor. No but seriously every option is exhausted, and the market is only going one direction with AI, we have heads of banks and funds coming out publically basically saying that agents are going to eat juniors up - so what is the move ? Can't just sit around waiting for a nice cushy corporate finance job forever when it just doesn't seem to come around. This is also particularly also aimed for those of us not yet in the capital class, so no getting a cop out masters is not a valid option. How do we escape eternal labor serfdom ?
