Saw that their base is only 80-90k as well on their job posting… thought FT pays 140k base now (which is crazy)

It is a new group that has been around for about a year. Honestly, its the best team at FT Partners just because of the people. Mike and Clayton are the best. Also, they have the best hours out of everyone at FT Partners. Currently it is RM and pitching to PE groups but they have had some good pitches and so I imagine there will be more modeling / LBO's as the group grows and they win deals.

Don't do it shit is not really IB. They treat sponsors analysts like second class citizens and it's not the same as IBD. You won't get reps doing the actual work on the deals like modeling or even CIM's. It's shit like putting together buyer / investor lists, coordinating outreach and discussions, and putting together investor profiles. Keeps the engines rolling having a dedicated team focused on knowing the investor / buyer side, but the analysts are not really doing any of the real deal work. The work life balance is not also guaranteed to be chill there's def times where the analysts get cranked there too when there's tons of requests.
