FT Partners vs. RBC vs. Truist

Have first rounds at all three, but I don't really know much about any of them. There seems to be a lot of RBC hype on WSO. I'm interested in people's takes on all three. Pros/cons/culture/etc.

Of these banks, RBC unless you're specifically interested in Fintech.

I was under the impression that RBC and Truist are purely bookrunners and co-advisors on deals due to their balance sheets and don't lead anything. I have read on this site that FT Partners is a sweatshop (consistent 12am - 2 am nights), but you will lead mid-market fintech deals. Wondering if anyone can confirm or deny this.

FT's transactions page can misleading. I've been on / seen deals that they were on the other side of but were like the 2nd or 3rd advisor and we had no interaction with them what so ever. Not one email with someone from their firm, just had their logo as the 2nd or 3rd one on the CIM. More true for the larger transactions they have. They definitely lead some of the smaller deals though. A friend of mine did an analyst stint there and said the deal experience for analysts is basically 3-4 private placements (think series B, C, or D) and 1 M&A deal and by then your 2 years are up.

I think most people here are capable giving advice on analyst level after seeing so many posts. Seems like you are interviewing for senior aso or vp position, and people fail to mention the importance of brand name/job security instead of how many excel cal you do.

Would advise you ask someone more senior.
