”it would be crazy to think that the economy is not going to bounce back even a little by then”

??? Its already mid 2020 with COVID-19 still widespread in the US, millions of people unemployed, GDP going to drop substantially Q2 and probably Q3, companies are declaring bankruptcy left and right, the Fed is at this point literally out of options, interest rate is at 0%, economists are forecasting a global recession and yet you think there is going to be a bounce back by next year?

While no one knows the future, the odds of 2021 being a shit year is pretty high.

Edit: also this has never been seen before, tell me the last time when unemployment hit almost 40mm and 100k+ americans dead within 2-3 months are you an idiot

I don’t see a word where a notable amount of people deny full time offers from a great place like citi. you can either make $100,000 and have a big dick job or join the 40 million plus Americans fighting for jobs and accumulate debt from unpaid student loans. no brainer choice to me

Granted, that’s a fair argument but some interns might use that to their advantage to shop around to another firm with a better name/group. It was a double edged sword for Citi to have made an open statement/decision like that tbh
