Goldman August 15 Openings

Hey all, saw that GS will be opening apps on 8/15 for 2027 summer analyst roles. It says on the website that roles will be posted for a bunch of functions (including IB).

Just wondering if this is really worth paying attention to—is this like a second wave with numerous spots to go around, or were they basically all filled in the spring?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Goldman Sachs typically operates on a rolling basis for applications. While applications may open on specific dates, such as August 15, it's important to note that many roles, especially in competitive divisions like Investment Banking, are often filled early in the cycle. For example, in previous years, applications were reviewed starting mid-September, with batches processed every 3-4 weeks. However, candidates who applied early were considered equally with those who applied later within the first batch.

If you're targeting these roles, it's worth applying as soon as possible after the opening date to maximize your chances. However, keep in mind that by this stage, many spots may already be filled, especially if there was an earlier wave in the spring. Networking and ensuring your application stands out will be crucial.
