Went to a target school and over desirability definitely went like this GS TMT > EVR M&A >> GS FIG. All 3 will give top-notch exit opportunities, from there it will depend on you whether you're landing a fancy buyside job
FIG is a very niche, largely non transferable skill set to invest in, wouldn’t roll the dice on that unless you know you’ll absolute love living and breathing FIG for multiple years. EVR M&A for breadth is important at the junior level unless it’s like an evergreen industry, like TMT
Both will crush your soul for the next 24 months, so pick your poison. GS TMT is the gold standard for MF PE exits, period. But don't sleep on evercore the technical training there is legendary and youre often doing more real work as an analyst than just PPT formatting at a BB. That said, at 2 AM in Midtown, nobody cares about meaningful learning experiences. You’ll want the brand that gets you the easiest exit. GS TMT > EVR > GS FIG.
