GPA for junior fall

When do most banks usually start their recruiting process for juniors? Do they see your grades for freshman and sophomore years only or do they see the gpa for junior fall as well?

My GPA is low after my sophomore year, and I believe I will be able to boost it during my fall semester of junior year. However, wouldn't this be useless if recruiting is already over? Fall semester grades come out in December.

Thanks!

asiamoneyYou'll need to provide your cumulative GPA (or major GPA) when applying. OCR for junior-year internships starts pretty much as soon as you get back on campus in the spring semester (running from end of January to mid/late February), so your grades in the fall will certainly count.

Hmm so BB IBD SA recruiting starts in January? I have heard of some recruiting starting in October/September, finishing up by December. What type of recruiting is this? Thanks

Recruiting for BB internships in Asia (HK/Singapore, maybe other regions too) is on that cycle. Maybe there are some other programs that recruit in the fall too, but the main recruiting season for BB IBD SA spots in the U.S. starts in January.

It depends on when your school releases your grades for the fall semester. Some of the resume drops this year were due by the first week of January, and finalized grades for my school weren't prepared at the time. This makes sense considering finals for semester system schools are usually in mid December.

Do you have to submit a transcript when applying through OCR recruiting? Or is it just cover letter and resume? If it's just your resume, couldn't you just list your GPA as what you'll think it will be? I think after you take your finals you have a general idea of your letter grade. You might be off by a half letter grade but even then, your GPA would probably not change much.

I remember submitting transcripts as well as resumes and cover letters for most of the banks recruiting at my school. I don't think it's fair to predict any of your grades, unless they have been finalized by the professor. At my school most classes are curved, making some grades a little unpredictable.
