GPUG MS

Hi,What are your thoughts on the industry group.I have read in old threats that the group is strong reputation and placement wise, but do be honest I have never heard anyone talk about it, when MS is mentioned. The only groups that come to mind are M&A, Med&Comms, Healthcare and sometimes FSG (even though they are on a declining basis according to many people on this forum).Cheers

I have heard that it's quite sweaty. Don't think that they are a top group in the space but you will be fine exits wise though since it is still MS (seen some great exits over the last few years to top PE funds).

definitely not a top group in the space, consistently outside of the top 5 for advisory and large M&A

but agree with the above that exits are still decent because it’s MS

Oh really, that's interesting because in some posts on this forum.they are mentioned as one of the top.groups at MS

Good group culturally and they do their own M&A (but would caveat that P&U can be a pretty particular type of business to model)

FSG is a culture group and prob will get good exits anyways bc MS

When networking, learned that MS top groups are M&A, GPUG, and M&C. FSG is a close 4th and Transpo at 5. Exits have been consistently good from M&A (traditional PE) and GPUG into traditional PE and/or Infra and Energy. M&C sends to UMM and MF Tech PE. M&A culture is very sweaty. M&C is better than M&A, but getting increasingly sweaty. GPUG culture is known to be one of the best in firm, a close second to Sponsors. Transpo is pretty sweaty too.
