Graduating 1 year early. Can I start early at my EB?

Hello everyone,

So, I'm doing an internship this coming summer at an EB. I recently found out that if I use the internship for credit, drop my double major (Economics & a liberal arts subject of interest, but no practical use), and forego my senior thesis, that I could graduate either this summer or in December following my internship.

1) If I do this, would HR be unreceptive to me renegotiating an earlier start date?

2) Even if they can't accommodate an early start date, if I decided to use the internship as credit for a summer class and graduated during the summer (saving me a lot of tuition money) would that impact my offer in anyway?

I would graduate in December and start with your normal class.

HR might be receptive to moving it up a whole year, but they also might not be because it changes their FT class size, and you'd also need to start (training/etc) with the FT class instead of with the interns... probably more trouble than it's worth.

However if you graduate in December, it gives you 6-7 months to travel wherever which is a great opportunity. HR wouldn't care about graduating a few months early either
