GS Cross-Markets Group
Any insights on the group (for an associate role)? Is it a generalist M&A or financial sponsor group (heard it covers both)? How is the deal flow, overall trajectory etc.?

They execute middle-market deals
Thanks. Any info on deal flow / quality and how does it stack up against other GS groups? Is it worth lateraling to this group from BofA / Citi M&A?
Don’t think so. They execute regional $5bn transactions
The "Goldman" brand name is not worth it to be frank. You'll be working on much high-profile deals at BoA or Citi M&A, which are excellent groups and on part with any non-TMT GS classic group.
Lots of deal volume. Well regarded group at GS. Usually MM exits
If it's a well regarded group at GS, then why are the exits MM oriented?
Del
.
How are exits generally? Have heard UMM. Also heard HC and Tech is strongest coverages within
If the exits are indeed UMM more or less, then it's no different than other non TMT or FIG coverage group. To be frank, they also have MM/UMM exits for the most part (with some MF here and there)
It's hard to gauge their standing vs other classic groups as it was established like 3 years ago, but judging by exits they are probably on par with IND or C&R.
They have a limited sample of exits given they had what, two classes exit? But they include some good names like Advent, CD&R, New Mountain, Brookfield, American Securities, Insight, and some other MMs.
