GS Dallas Office

Anyone have any info on Goldman's Dallas office regarding groups/divisions that work there? I've read stuff about BO roles and RE financing origination, but do they have anything else in the office and what is the likely-hood of being able to lateral out of the office if you were to get in there? Thanks to anyone that can help answer these questions.

GS Dallas is a growing office (there were rumors about moving out of Jersey City and making it the new HQ2). There likely is going to be tons of jobs moving over. There are already cool teams there like REPIA, SSG, IBD Southwest Coverage, Real Estate Financing, and Investor Relations. Can confirm even strong BO/MO performers can move to front office in IBD or PWM.

Front office in Dallas is limited mostly RE and small IB presence. Groups are as follows

- REFG which is Real Estate Financing Group within IBD. Half the group is in Dallas and Half in NY

- REPE within GSAM/MBD, which is CRE investing on both the Credit and Equity sides. Same with above, both groups are half in Dallas and half in NY

- Specialty Lending within GSAM. MM Lending group with folks in Dallas and NY

- Relationship Lending Group within IBD. This is a new, small, group focused on mm lending and small plain vanilla senior debt transactions with established GS clients.

- Transaction Banking within IBD. Relatively new platform, with a huge presence in Dallas. This group is like treasury services at any other BB, weirdly it falls under IBD.

- IBD Southern Coverage. Classic IBD group focused on souther based clients and medium to small transactions. Industry/Product agnostic which is pretty cool. Small group

Overall, in Dallas, the Real Estate groups, both MBD and IBD, get the most clout. Pretty selective, smart, and lots of TX-NY back & forth, not only in terms of people but also deals. TxB is also booming, given the novelty and growth, but at the end of the day its not truly "pure high finance", so mobility is scarce.
