How is GS ECM viewed for exit opps? Are there even any with it being ECM? Specifically TMT. Any LO / HF take a look at you? Any places others within the group have gone?

ECM to HF is a big jump regardless of firm
Any realistic options then?
Work at a LO AM and have a fraternity brother who works in Financing there. No major exit ops I can think of, and he is really focused on becoming a career banker. Don't think I've ever seen anyone from ECM come to my LO either, mostly people from Classic IB and ER from GS

Most ECM exits are to coverage, investor relations roles, or startups. Honestly the majority of ECM analysts go to the associate level for a combo of complacency, good pay, and lack of exit opps (my internship was in ECM and keep up with old colleagues).
VC is possible especially from GS TMT ECM but by no means a guarantee. Don't really see any overlap between ECM and LO AM or HF investing roles

Interned at a HF and I believe the IPO/pre-IPO investing team was open to ECM candidates for a job they posted. That's probably the most adjacent buyside job for someone in ECM.
