Not at Goldman, but I believe they promote analysts to associate after 2 years, and every number after analyst is quite low. No VP at a respectable bank is making $320K — that’s like 2nd year associate territory.
I know GS apparently has the "Goldman Discount", but these figures seem very low.
This was from a tech focused community called Blind. It seems like the crowd here has better sense of compensation levels in finance.
I believe street numbers for Ao1 / Ao2 / Ao3 are 150 / 175 / 200 for salary and probably 60-120% bonus.
Thank you!
Base progression is $85 > $95 > $125 for the first three years. If you take those bonus figures for AN1 to AN2 and add $10 to each, you’ll have an expected mid-to-top bucket guideline for comp. The AN3 bonus is in-line with AS0 (what you are after 3 years at GS).
Super helpful thanks!
An ED at my firm made more than $600K bonus (50% cash 50% stock) last year, just leaving that here...
friend of a friend who's a VP at MC made close to 700k
