GS New Analyst program application

Currently scheduled to begin my post grad FT at a TMT boutique in July, albeit I am interested in lateraling to a more industrials-heavy group in short-to-medium term once I accumulate some experience under my belt.As GS has a great industrials team, I've been thinking of applying to their New Analyst program (don't mind losing a year) this July. Main caveat is that my candidate profile won't be as rich as it would be 5-6 months from now, when I actually begin my FT position.Should I wait and apply to the program later in the year once my profile gets better or just send it ASAP in July?Any input highly appreciated.
