Received word from my mentor saying I will probably get the offer. Talked to someone else from a different group and they’re taking 2/6 interns. Might be low across the board

If they are converting so few people, they are definitely not hiring for FT (unless they hired morons which would justify the low conversion rate but I doubt it).

I’m skeptical of the accuracy of any of these posts, would wait for more reliable information to come out. Given where MS and the other banks have come out on offer rates, would be surprised for GS to be drastically different. Their historic offer rates are a bit below others, but not significantly.
What division is the 1/3 talk for? How do return rates typically differ across IB/ST/AM/etc?

I thought most of the BBs only made interns work for a few weeks, but paid them for the whole summer and guaranteed FT offers. Why are all these offer rate discussions popping up?
Guaranteed offers only happened at Citi. None of the other BBs made that claim
GS didn’t give automatic returns, but IBD communicated offer status today
