GS TMT NYC vs GS TMT SF?

Hi! Wondering if there was a big difference in the kinds of deals that NYC does vs. SF? Is SF more tech-focused while NYC covers more M&T? What are the exit opps out of each office?

I feel like most people on this forum say that GS TMT is the best IB group to be in and they are usually talking about the NY location. Many people also say that NY > SF in terms of PE exit opps because even SF PE shops will come to NY because of the talent people though it is harder to recruit from NY to get to SF so because the caliber of candidates between GS SF and GS NY is already so high, SF PE firms probably just go to GS SF. Ultimately though, since they are both the best of the best groups, the difference in exit opps is negligible.

SF is better if you're interested in startup/ tech exits, but GS cross-staffs on Tech and M&T deals across both NYC and SF
