[Guide] Navigating long interview processes

I know that recruiting for these high finance roles can be like hell, with drawn out and unfair processes. I wanted to pay it forward and give a great advice helped me land a great job!

Any interview that’s longer than 2 rounds is completely unfair imo, one round with HR to make sure you are real and a final round with the hiring manager for them to explain the role better.

But of course, now there’s 5 rounds with a 3hr model test included. Whenever this model test comes up, realize they are trying to get FREE LABOR out of you. Don’t accept this. I immediately tell HR that my consulting rates are $500/hr and that I must be paid $1500 to complete the model test. In addition, I need to paid for my time for more than 2 rounds of interviews.

This greatly impresses HR, not only will you get paid for this time, but they will consider you for higher level positions due to how you handle business (ie., if you are interviewing for an analyst role they will actually upgrade you to associate or VP role)

Try it out, just my 2 cent
