Hard Time Getting Interviews

Hey everyone,

Just some background, I'm approaching my second year at a bank doing CB. Lately, I've been applying to my exact role at different banks but I keep getting rejected. This might be a dumb question but is it my resume or just 'cause of the general labor market given that some banks have been laying off people/ doing hiring freeze?

Depends. Did you go to a target, what’s your gpa, and do you have a referral/have you networked at the places you’re applying to?

Would say that networking trumps all. Suggest pursuing that more if you’re looking to switch roles.

I work in CB. 3rd year analyst and have been applying to things in IB and been getting good traction. I have done an extensive amount of networking though so would say 75% of my opportunities come from that and the other 25% just from online applications. Hiring has been a lot better recently. Most groups are swamped and need bodies to handle all the work and want people with experience that can get up to speed quickly and help out
