Funny story here, I dated someone who worked in HR at a F500 company. She worked in the internal recruit function of the HR department. We broke up somewhat mutually.  --- Now, 3 years later,  I have switched banks and sectors and now this F500 company is a big client of the bank.  A handful of our analyst/associates get head hunted by their finance and strategy departments by my ex.  Want to guess who has never been contacted about open roles?

Its funny how the world works sometimes.

C'mon man use some critical thinking skills and common sense. Really shouldn't be too hard to answer but I'll spell it out for you. It's not a great idea but slightly safer than dating someone on your team. The real problem is now someone in HR has direct access to anything you say about work. Everyone vents about their job and others in the office. What if your GF lets something slip / talks about you with her coworkers (it will happen - girls love gossip for better or worse)? What if the relationship doesn't work out? Great, now HR has all the dirt in the world to terminate you.
