Help

i needed some advice on my situation.

I go to a non target currently a junior and have (3.0-3.4 gpa). I had countless interviews for solid IB firms which was acquired through networking (SA 2021), however i got rejected by them all. I recently accepted a S&T position for SA 2021 (because i had no other options ) at a international bank which i am truly grateful for!! But my end goal is IB (at any firm)

1) i can recruit for FT IB after but how how hard would that be knowing i dont have any prior IB experience just have my networks.

2) Should i take a extra semester, and recruit again if so what minor would look good

Need some advice, anything would be helpful thank you!

There are plenty of people who have been able to lateral into IB without any IB experience, you're not even at this point yet considering you still have the option to recruit for FT next year. The sentiment on WSO from a lot of kids still in college seems to be that without an internship in IB their path into the industry is gone and their life is over, this is incorrect. When recruiting for FT just be honest with them if they ask why you did a S&T internship; explain that you didn't land an IB role so you took your next best option and IB is still the field you want to be in. And even then if you don't land an FT role find an adjacent industry like valuation, do that for 6 months to a year and then work on lateralling over to IB. You still have a lot of options.
