Help Balancing a Model
Hey all,
I have just started learning basic financial modeling and I'm having trouble balancing a simple three statement model. I'd be thankful if someone could tell me where to start looking for errors. Thanks!
Update: I'm really close now, still missing a small amount though.

Most likely something on your statement of cash flow. Every single balance sheet item that is changing needs to show up on the cash flow somewhere
Thanks! I uploaded an updated version but I'm still not getting it. Is it possible that my statement of cash flows is oversimplified and I'm missing some items there? or is there a different way to calculate net cash flow?
I think you're cash on BS is off.
The forecasted part is not completed cause I couldn't balance the previous years with actual numbers. Maybe if I can get it to balance there, it'll be okay on the forecasted years
Where are you getting your historicals from? All the historicals should be easy to balance, in theory.
Hard codes are in black fonts and formulas are in blue fonts?...I don't think I like you.
lol forgot about the formatting
Never
Fixed it - notes below:
CF tab - F22 needs to link to P&L F19; you have it linked to P&L E19, so it's off by a year
BS tab - F5 needs to add cash from last year; you are just directly linking the change in CF
Should flow correctly after that.
Well, the historicals are still off so I'll have to keep checking that, but at least it's balancing now. Thank you so much! That was really helpful.
