Help - Did Your JP Morgan Pymetrics Results Mention IB?
Hello everyone,
For people who have gotten into JP Morgan in the past, did your pymetrics test specifically mention that you were "fit" for investment banking? I'm curious because the 5 options they selected me for (you can take the test at any time, even though the apps aren't open yet) are corporate client banking, sales analyst, trading analyst, corporate analyst development, and software engineer.
I'm curious to know because while my results don't mention IB specifically, there are multiple front-office roles. While S&T sounds interesting, I'm only really considering IB because I feel like I can't split my attention between both, so I'm curious to know if they won't even consider me for IB because of this test. I also am not majoring in CS so it would be hard to start a career that's becoming automated rather quickly. Has anyone received similar results but still gotten interviews from JP Morgan IB? Also curious because people from my school place at JP, but networking in apparently doesn't help and it's all based on how you do on the pymetrics test to get interviews.
Thanks for your input.
I recently confirmed with an ED in JPM HR that the pymetrics tests have no bearing on hiring decisions yet. It’s simply in a data collection phase and it will be a while before JPM has enough data to decide if it is an effective screening tool. Don’t worry about it!
Interesting, thank you for letting me know! Do you have any tips for being competitive in their process? I've networked with alumni who all told me that networking at JPM doesn't really help anyone get into the process anymore, so it was more worth it to basically just toss your hat in the ring and network elsewhere. Is this true?
VP and up can still refer but yes, much less networking than before.
True, except at ED+. I had 2 superdays (one for capital markets and one for IB generalist). For generalist I applied online and none of the networks I've developed pushed my resume. Yet, for capital markets, an ED asked for my resume then pushed my resume through- within a day of sending her my resume, I had an interview for her group and was pushed easily through the process because the ED had referred me. I eventually declined her offer for the generalist offer, but I realized how much pull an ED has on resume pushing and getting the offer. I would try to talk to VP+ if you want to network- meet them in person/at networking events then keep in touch.
Won't mean much but i will be at jp this summer for ib and I checked my results. It told me corporate banking, hr, and then investment banking.
Kinda fun to look at tbh.
That's definitely a data point though, and any responses are helpful. I appreciate your comment +1 SB
Hey friend, quick question - when you went on Pymetrics, what were the 3 top characteristics it gave you for "most unique"?
hey, I was wondering if you would be able to shed some light on the interview process at JPM IB. is it more behavioral then technical? and what do you think is the best way to really prepare for it.
Where do you find this info? Doesn't mention role/division suggestions anywhere on my pymetrics profile.
EDIT: found it. you have find the "program navigator" page on their website.
Hi, I am trying to find what my pymetrics results say. Where is the program navigator button? Is it on the JPM website? I can't seem to find it on the pymetrics website. Thanks
Hi I can't find this on there? Is there any way you could see if it has moved?
I remember that I didn’t do well at all on Pymetrics last year but still ended up with a superday invite. Best of luck
