HK Renewables/Cleantech

Which IB firms in HK have great renewables/cleantech teams? What type of deals do they work on? What regions do deals generally come from?

I am about to graduate from undergrad and have been working at a (L)MM cleantech boutique in the UK for a year. Is it possible to move to a renewables/cleantech team at one of the BBs in HK? (visa is not an issue)

Any insight on Nomura Greentech Industrials and Infrastructure? From LinkedIn it seems like the team in HK is quite small (single digit).

Hey Intern in IB - ECM, I swear if I had a silver banana for every lonely thread I posted too I'd be richer than @compbanker ...

A lot of of the non China activity (buyside and sellside) has moved out to Singapore in recent years and banking coverage reflects this. Eg Nomura has been expanding in Singapore instead for renewables coverage. Beyond BBs, you will have presence by HSBC/SC/BNP/SocGen with some combination of dedicated renewables IB/project finance/corp banking in HK. Even the above will often only have a single MD each with support team of varying sizes so smaller IB platforms will be even leaner (I.e team of 1-3 vs 4-6).

Don’t have insight on Chinese banks.
