Homeless Banker

So, uh, the clock is definitely ticking...

No job, no interviews, nothing.

My situation: I graduate in May with a BSBA in Finance (Cum: 3.7, Last 50 hours: 3.96) from non-target (top 40 undergrad). I have some commercial banking experience, but no IB, S&T, or PWM. My quandary is: now what? I've talked/networked with 4-5 alumni in IBDs. They've each responded with pretty much the same tune (bad capital markets, no opportunities, etc.) So, without ending up at some sh*tty brokerage cold calling (a la Boilerroom), what angle should I take now?

I'm considering Teach for America or some other volunteer corp.; however, if I received an offer in finance or consulting (making 50k+), I probably wouldn't turn it down.

Thanks for any suggestions, inspirational stories, or just harsh criticism, lol.

The thing is, banks have already filled all of their full-time positions for all banking and s&t. People might know about PWM full-time but my guess is that they are full too. FT recruiting takes place early first semester.

Do a lot of interviewing to get experience with opportunities at your school. There are plenty careers if you enjoy finance that you will like. And a good deal of them that will make you 50K a year. Keep at it!

if i were you i would try some small middle market shops, if they are small enough they might not have a formal recruiting schedule and fill spots as their needs occur, also ask your alumni contacts if they could give you some contacts they know at smallet firms. Its a long shot but I would still try
