I know those HL bonus numbers came out recently, let's hear some numbers from Associates/VPs. Curious how the firm fared compared to other MM banks this year. Saw another thread on this, but no one was posting numbers....

This is still somehow some of the best on the street
Horrible year. Lowest comp on the street.
VPs, the category with the highest bonuses, got 5-10k total comp less than last year (i.e. not much more than 50% of fixed salary)
Directors more or less in line with VPs.
For associates it was a bloodbath, ranging from 15% to 40/50% (and we are talking high performers here).
Overall morale is down with lots of people looking for new opportunities.
I guess the issue is there won't be many lateral opportunities to go to and doubt many places will pay amazing bonuses this year. If anything HL is one of the few places I've seen with a several lateral postings over the past few months.
Are you talking M&A? Wasnt deal flow pretty bad?
Guessing this type of sentiment isnt specific to HL so not sure where ppl will want to lateral to
If its for restructuring, then I can see there being a bigger issue if they arent paying like their peers
This is for Corporate Finance.
Restructuring comp is understandbly higher but have yet to do a proper research on rx comps across the range.
M&A market was awful this year but didn't expect HL to be so cheap on bonuses. Much lower than other boutiques such as Lazard, Rothschild...
