Houlihan Chicago
Hey everyone, I am curious what the Chicago office for HL is like (M&A). Interested to hear about the typical stuff such as culture, hours, comp, etc. I'm considering working there and would like some insight if possible. Thanks!

Food and bev is based there. Heard it’s on the sweatier side though. Very good group deal flow wise. Not sure about comp or exits.
Food & Bev team is by far the best in the MM with great deal flow.
Very high bonuses in the Food and Bev group
Food and bev And rx have really strong exits to chicago funds
the office is very sweaty, across groups. Healthcare will work you to the bone, food and bev is also long hours. Tough cultures all around, but they are good at what they do.
Agree with above, healthcare team there is an absolute sweatshop
Known or spoken with quite a few people in the healthcare group from analyst to vp and none of them had stayed very long. They were all pretty candid that the group worked very bad hours. If I remember correctly, there was a comment that the healthcare group was the highest fee per banker group at HL. I thought it was an odd thing to be proud about considering you're just bragging about being understaffed
Sweaty
Rx is a great group there... Friend loved it and said he worked 70 hours on average as an analyst
agree, also heard Houlihan RX has good hours
Have also heard this from multiple analysts there, one literally told me it was near 60 for him. God bless whoever got that spot
