Pay is street to slightly above street depending on your bucket, but below HL RX and EB comp levels.

Culture heavily depends on group. HL's leadership is quite decentralized, so as a result every office and group has its own culture.

Hours in my group are pretty bad. We average around 90 hours a week, and we're constantly working. HL focuses on revenue per MD, so MDs chase after everything and you'll be constantly staffed on live deals and pitching.

HL is a volume shop. You'll get your reps in as most groups close a lot of deals, but the deals you'll be working on will tend to be much smaller than other MM firms. Because of HL's focus on revenue per MD, you'll be pitching on absolutely everything from $20M to >$1B. I'm in one of the coverage groups that has a relatively higher average deal value, and there was a point when I was staffed on five deals with a cumulative deal value of $300M or so.
