Houlihan Lokey Reputation
I've seen a few older threads, but I was wondering what the current reputation that Houlihan Lokey has. I'm interested in their reputation on the street vs other MM banks, and if anyone could tell me about the best groups within Houlihan (non-RX, CF). Thanks!
Its awesome if you want solid deal experience. They're a volume shop and most of their teams are strong enough in their spaces to focus more on execution rather than pitching, solid relationships, probably the best MM overall + great meal stipend haha
Current HL employee here. Great place to work.
HL culture is really good, and it seems like they actually do care about their employees (they had the best Covid relief package, by far) whereas most banks just claim they do. They really do crush the volume play in the MM, and the RX practice keeps them afloat during economic downturns, so you are going to get exposure to a ton of different deals at every stage of the process with a surprising amount of autonomy. Obviously, they are known for RX but their CF groups are still great and focus on 90% M&A. They really don't have a weak CF group, but you want to work out of the office that the group is based out of (will help your deal flow immensely).

Houlihan is very Lowkey
Culture is ok. Pay significantly below market.
This man HATES Houlihan
Bump. Anyone have ideas on exit opps as well? Mostly MM/UMM?
