Hour Long Interview?

I had a phone interview a couple of weeks ago with a boutique private equity firm and was just told that they wanted me to come into the office for an in person interview.

I was told that the meeting will be an hour long. I have never had an interview that was longer than 20-30 minutes so I am just curious what kind of things I should be prepared for.

Thanks.

You are smart to be concerned...the hardest interview I ever had was one hour long. This was for banking but I am sure the experience wouldn't be that much different for PE. Basically it allows a good interviewer to slowly probe your technical weaknesses. I got asked question after question that would go deeper into a subject area until I finally was pushed to the limit of my knowledge. Then for about 10 minutes straight I was asked questions that I really didn't have a good answer for. Essentially it was a stress test and a way for them to gauge my thinking processes. This was in addition to a good 20 minutes of fit questions.

Definitely be prepared for the technical and be ready to be challenged (unless its not a technical interview). My experience anyways.

Good luck.
