Same as NYC but when you consider the massively lower COL in Houston, it feels like 1.5x vs. NYC

An associate salary in Houston will afford you a house, a car and a country club membership.  In NYC?  Paycheck to paycheck

Country club membership is a stretch. The base ones have $50k at initiation.

cant afford that with a house and all

young exec / junior memberships do not require $50k up front for Texas country clubs. it's spread out over a number of years via low interest low.

A decent club’s junior membership is $20k+, yes it depends on club code whether this is amortized or not. Best case scenario you’re getting it amortized over X years until you’re a stockholding member at which point you’re going to have to pay the full initiation fee, think that’s at 35 in general. It’s doable for a junior, but not all clubs have juniors and/or accepting them at the moment. All in all club/personal situation dependent but I don’t know any associates with a membership in my group.
