How are companies acquired, that have a lot of free float?
There are a lot of companies that have e.g. Vanguard with 2% as their biggest shareholder, followed by a 1.5% held by Blackrock and so on. Like 90% of these companies are held by many institutional or private investors. How the f... do you acquire them? You can't possibly knock on 1000 doors and annoy everyone to sell you their 200 shares. Imagine you almost reached 50% but some Grandma with old shares wants a 600% premium.
