How do you manage nerves in IB technical interviews?

Just went through a horrible interview. I felt reasonably prepared going in, but I got nervous on the first technical question. It was a merger math question I’d practiced before. I missed the purchase premium at first, got stuck, and needed several prompts to work through it.

The paper LBO later in the interview went much more smoothly once I settled down. Looking back, the most frustrating part was how quickly getting stuck made me second-guess my reasoning.

For anyone who’s dealt with this, what helped you get better at thinking on your feet under interview pressure? And when you blank on an early question, how do you reset in the moment and get back on track?

Would appreciate any practical tips.

More mock technical interview reps. It’s hard at first but you eventually start getting over the nerves
