I’m planning to live in Jersey and commute through path/subway to work in midtown which is 36min door to door. Does most banks pay for late night uber back to Jersey?

I’ve seen a variety and plenty of people at different distances. When I started like an intern/personally I was effectively walking distance but able to use subway to make it a short commute (maybe 20 mins from my apt to my desk in office), eventually I moved to more of a 30-45 commute I guess. Definitely easier especially in IB to live close and effectively have your home near office because of hours, unpredictability, etc. but now with more WFH flexibility that might not be as top of a priority. 40 mins sounds reasonable to me in my limited knowledge and the most important is to have a place to live if possible where you feel like you can be your best self hopefully

good luck with your move and best wishes :).

Giving you an early welcome to nyc….

It’s so tough to live close to work without breaking the bank, unfortunately I don’t have the luxury of paying that type of rent. And, I felt like living in Jersey city (hobroken/ newport area) will probably be fine given that I’m not big on socializing. Main concern is to be reimbursed for Uber or rides late night.
