How far removed can you be before it's no longer "deal swag"?
Got into this semi-philosophical discussion this morning and I'd like to hear your opinions. An example follows: Large asset manager (e.g. PIMCO) launches a new product, there's no similar product and they launch it via partnership with a single firm (e.g. some regional powerhouse is the inaugural business partner utilizing the product).
Obviously, people on the business development side that are directly working on the deal from both sides are involved, but what about the regional analyst team that ran the numbers for product implementation. Junior guys that were working on the implementation and calculations, etc.
PIMCO sends some deal swag, cups, etc. celebrating the launch. Are the junior guys receiving their first deal swag, or are they so far removed from the actual deal that they're just grabbing free cups?
Would love for you all to opine.
Omg....
Those that worked on the transaction get the "deal swag"
