Depends:
Target high GPA: least amount of hours
Target low GPA: still relatively few hours
Non target: a fuck ton of hours
Coming from a complete non target and managed to land a BB IB SA offer, took HUNDREDS. Hard to quantify beyond that but easily hundreds, consumed about a year of my life.
Edit: that being said, maybe others are more effective at networking. Maybe you won’t take as long to learn the technicals. But for me, other than going out once per week and hanging out with my girlfriend like 2 nights per week after 9pm, it was a grind!
Spot on. Kind of always on my mind thinking of new strategies, refining my pitch even if not doing things I could tally hours for. It’s an almost constant grind coming from a non target but it’s not necessary and shouldn’t take over your life.
