How hard is it to get fired if you truly do not care?

How hard is it to get fired in this industry if you really do not care? I am talking about doing the bare minimum, not being responsive on weekends, leaving early every day during the week, etc.

Any stories of truly horrible analysts you have worked with?

Will be dependent on your bank culture, I guess.
I knew a bank where an analyst was giving a pretty bad job and clearly showed a lack of commitment,
One day, his team was told that they would have a difficult weekend, because they had to prepare lot of documents before Monday morning (and it was Friday afternoon).
The guy literally said 'OK guy, have a nice weekend :)', left the call, and turned off his phone.
He was fired the next week.

In another bank that had a softer culture, I was told there was a guy who did not show most interest in the job and had the habit of disappearing,
One day, they received a lot of work to do. The guy literally told them 'sorry, I can't help you, I took some days off to go skiing'
Sometimes, he would just disappear out of the blue, and casually come back to the office as if nothing happened
He did the same tricks 3 or 4 times before eventually being fired

Would likely be pushed out very quickly. It's one thing to not work "overtime" (i.e. not turning pitch comments at 1am if the pitch is in a week, slow to respond on weekends but still gets work done eventually) - they will keep you around for bitch work or very slow pitches with a $0 or low bonus, but if you are just not doing the work period, you will be let go within a few months.
