How important is industry knowledge for IB SA Recruiting?

Hey all, I'm a sophomore prepping for SA interviews. Primarily interested in TMT (both tech and media) as well as Healthcare. How important is it to have in-depth knowledge about these sectors for recruiting? Obviously if I go for Qatalyst I better know tech in and out, but how would - for example - recruiting for GS TMT look like? Should I spend a significant amount of time prepping TMT related knowledge for it or am I not expected to know much? Thanks!

Asking bc I don't want to ask these questions on networking calls w/ alum @ said groups to make a better impression. Most upperclassmen I know all recruited generalist as well.
