Hopkins alum here. Not good when I was there, probably one of the worst schools for IB in the top 10/top 15. OCI is nearly non existent. There aren’t that many people gunning for IB though. A good number of them do break in by reaching out to alums (usually also alums of certain clubs)/personal connections, or through diversity programs or programs like GWI. 

If you’re looking to get into IB, I would stay away from Hopkins. All of its peers in the same “tier” are better for that purpose.

 

JHU Carey Business alum here as well. Would agree with this except with one extra point. The education is great but the connections and on campus recruiting are practically non-existent for IB. Unfortunately, the on campus recruiting is a huge part of the benefit of attending HYPSM.

So, if you want a good education and a good general name on your resume but without the connections and recruitment, then JHU might still be a good choice. It really depends on what your alternatives are.
