The forum says ~$4k, but that's for summers who are paying rent and going out 3-4 times a week.
I'm considering saving the money from the SA stint and (if its enough) go live in Asia for a bit (I have a few places in mind where COL is maybe $20 a day at most).

Some firms pay their interns overtime. I've heard of people making way more than 10K.
the average take home is 14-16 k for the summer across the bulge brackets..... Give your lifestyle I would say 10k is a possible take home if you are very frugal about it. Remember taxes will also eat into this.
