How much can I talk about an IPO during an interview?
I'm currently an intern and working on an IPO that I listed on my resume. I've got an interview coming soon at another bank - how much can I talk about it? Can I say which firm? How much can I talk in terms of financials?
It is publicly filed? If it hasn’t then you cannot mention the name of it. If it’s not public info I just wouldn’t say anything. You never know who is on the deal or who they know. Dont want to be that guy who says something they shouldn’t
The intention to IPO has been publicly announced but the official prospectus hasn't been published yet. Thanks for the feedback.
If it hasn't filed I would say something like "it was a company in Industry industry, it hasn't filed yet so the information is nonpublic. I helped by doing X, Y, Z."
By saying it's nonpublic, you likely won't get too many questions.
Keep your X, Y, and Z pretty standard - something like, "reviewed industry reports to assess competitive strengths" vs. "Looked at other software companies with $2B - $3B in revenue..."
