It doesn't work like that. The CIM is just one of the marketing documents within a broader sellside process. Typically, the sellside bank and the target company will negotiate an engagement letter that specifies a fee that will be paid at the time of closing. The CIM specifically doesn't have a cost but rather, it's part of the work that will be happen as part of the deal.

 

Thank you for your comment. I know how the deal process works and am aware that a CIM's cost is part of the deal fee. 

I'm genuinely curious what its cost is independently.

Helpful. The 1/3 * 3 structure seems a reasonable guess. Yeah at the end of day it's a PPT with some simplified model/financial analysis in it.  

Feel like $500K is pretty steep though.
