How much of a target is Emory?

I will be attending Emory University in the fall and I would hope to enter the investment banking world after graduation. So I was wondering how much of a target Emory is and how prestigious the school is. Also what schools would you put in the same tier as Emory?

It doesn't have a reputation for sending 60+ people to IB every year like most targets do, but I do know people who have gotten jobs. It's a good school, so as long as you network and get your resume out, you should get some interest. The main problem is that I don't think there's a lot of on-campus recruiting or a big alumni network for you to leverage.

1 Centerview, 3~4 Lazard (with 1~2 laterals ending up at Lazard eventually -> 5~6), 2 JPM, 2 GS, 2 Barclays, 2 Citi(including 1 ECM), 2 BMO, 1 CS, 1 MS, 1 DB, 1PWP, 2 HL, 2 Nomura, 2 HBSC, 1 Evercore etc, ( My class sent around 25 kids to BB,MM in NYC)

And around 10 kids got offers from places like SunTrust, Brookwood, Kurt Salmon Advisors, CHILDS Advisory, Marathon Capital (Chicago), Baird (Chicago), KeyBanc, Stephens, Raymond James, TM Capital (mostly regional MM or boutique)

Occasionally Roark Capital Partners (6B AUM PE in Atlanta) takes 1 analysts from Emory Vista Equity Partners (20B in cumulative AUM) took 1 analyst BX Real Estate (Atlanta Office)

As for consulting 1~2 BCG (atlanta office), 1 Bain (atlanta office), 15+ for Big 4 and 2nd tier consulting/ Advisory

Semi-Target

Current Emory BBA here. We actually have a presence (larger than you would expect) on wall street and continue to grow. We are a core/OCR school @ Citi, Lazard, HSBC, Perella Weinberg, Houlihan, BMO & Mizuho among quite a few others. We also have quite a few kids every year go to Goldman, Credit Suisse and Guggenheim. Not to mention our relationships with several banks are improving. Have had kids go to Centerview, Evercore, Blackstone in past 2/3 years among others. Long story short, you'll get into IB if you go to Emory. The BBA program is fantastic and the resources you will be provided with regards to career development are extremely impressive.

I'm happy to answer any questions about the school you have
