How to answer "Can you let me know how you learned about our firm?"?

Okay, so I applied for an internship at a local boutique and they have agreed to mentor me over the summer. In the email they asked "Can you let me know how you learned about our firm?". How do I answer that question properly? The truth is that I found them on Google Maps while searching for random IBs.

Cap IQ search, read about them in an article online, through a networking contact, etc.

Google them and look up what deals they have done. Cap IQ etc. can also be helpful if you have access to these. This way not only will you be able to answer their question you can take advantage of this question to show your interest in the type of deals that they work on, which in turns showcases you as someone whois also competent and genuinely interested to work there.

Too late for second-guessing Too late to go back to sleep.
