How to get into IB In India

Hello WSO readers. my name is Rishit Goyal, I am 20 years old from india. I am really keen in a career in IB but I lack the roadmap to getting into IB. I have just graduated from a mid tear private university and I am a cfa level 2 candidate appearing in November. I gotta ask this as well , does cfa has any weightage what so ever when it comes to cracking a job in IB or is it just hearsay.

CFA holds absolutely no value when it comes to IB in India. It is more of an add-on to the profile, like a "good to have" if your profile is otherwise great as well.

So my advice would be work hard for CAT and try for top IIMs if you want to land an IB gig in India. Meanwhile you can work in a boutique IB/ER firm to gain some work ex. Don't be one of those who prepare for CAT/GMAT while sitting at home.

Good luck!
