How to move to another office/country? (e.g. from London to USA)

Hi everyone! My questions are: - Can anyone ask to be moved to another country/office? (e.g. from Europe to USA) - Are there any prerequisites? - Why isn't that so common? - Is a GMAT + MBA necessary?

Thank you so much, looking forward to your perspectives on this.

EU to US is less common because there are costs and paperwork (yes, there is also paperwork for US Americans who want to work in the EU or UK). The possible visas are - H1b - L1 (after 1 year of employment with the same company outside of the US) - O (if you are published, extraordinary, national interest waiver, ..) - E1/E2 if you have the same nationality as the business you work for and you are able to/willing ti invest (this one is NON-immigrant) - DV lottery / diversity visa, low chance of winning, but people do win and then move with to their employers' US offices afterwards

Outside of your employment - EB5 with significant investment

(I have omitted religious and specialty visas)

NB there are also rotation schemes in leadership programs that allow you to live/work in other countries, please ask HR whether you qualify. It is an easier way of living/working abroad.

Be an amazing analyst and network with NYC offices. We had 2-3 associates who came to our group from European offices, obviously they stayed in the same coverage group where they could add the most value. The common denominator was they were all among the top 10% of performers, pretty sure all of them were analyst to associate promotes. Have seen fewer jumps from US to Europe, but I imagine the same approach works. I'm sure it helps if there's a business need as well.
