How to prepare for an investment banking interview the day before?

I decided not to pursue investment banking at the start of this semester because I thought getting interviews would be a long shot. I received a call for a first round interview with a middle market bank on campus. How should I prepare myself for questions regarding valuation methods, LBO's, accounting and finance?

  • Make sure you are bullet proof about everything mentioned in your CV
  • Have a strong story for personal fit questions
  • Go through one of the guides (breaking into wallstreet for example gives you a good overview) to be safe on the valuation side (questions on DCF, multiples, EV to EqV bridge are usually very popular)
  • And most importantly, do not mention anything you cannot comfortably talk about (in most inverviews you will not be asked about LBO, but as soon as you say the word, the interviewed could be pursuaded to drill you on in)

Good luck!
