How to reconcilie majority share holder % of a company to full 100% ?
When I look at the majority shareholders for Coca-Cola (KO) and I add up the ownership it only comes to 49.3% of the full value when it clearly should be 100% (or at least close to, given yahoo only has data for top ~20 each insto/mf/insider holders).
This can be done either be summing all the shares and comparing it to BSO count in the latest 10-Q, summing up the % Out. figure given and comparing to 100% or by summing up the corresponding market value of the ownership as stated and comparing to equity market value.
Any ideas on how to reconcilie this difference in value? Occurs in every company I look at using data from Yahoo Finance.

Are you perhaps only looking at institutional holderd and therefore excluding all retail ownership (normal people who own some stock)? Maybe you’re also ezcluding insider shareholders?
Forgot about retail shareholders, thanks.
