How to Recruit at Miller Buckfire/Ducera

I was wondering if the approach for these two firms differed from just cold reaching out to analysts, should I try to find HR/Associates/VP's/etc (smaller boutiques so I doubt they have HR departments)? I don't have any alumni at these firms, so I've been really persistent on the cold emails to analysts, I just haven't had any response. Any advice welcome. I'm recruiting for a summer analyst position. Thank you all.

what would you say, I can do to best position myself for full-time (i go to nontarget, low gpa 3.0-3.4, but I had 8 first rounds and 2 super days for the SA 2021 process, which came through networking). so with that in mind how can I best prepare myself for full-time.

If you had that many rounds and didn't make it through to anything, make sure your interviewing skills are up to par. As a non-target myself, I needed to make sure I was more polished, eloquent, and generally well-spoken than my target-school counterparts who were interviewing against me. I've long stood by the idea that the interview is a level playing field and you have far more control on the outcome than you think based on how you present yourself. Make sure you come across as a candidate anyone, not just a bank, would want to hire and that you're representing yourself to the highest degree possible. Happy to elaborate more

Assuming you are referring to next summer (2021)? They're probably done recruiting by now...

One of my best friends is an analyst at MB. It’s a lean shop. He was actually supposed to be a Stifel Analyst, but when covid his they deferred 30% of their incoming class until June of 21. They gave that 30% an option: be an oil and gas analyst in Texas, or recruit for MB. 7 people from the Stifel 30% went for 1 position at MB and thankfully he got it.

Point is, I wouldn’t be surprised if MB has closed the window for now. Tough times.
